Choices was formed by a diverse group of professionals across multiple disciplines inclusive of thriving lived experience members who are deeply passionate about strengthening the care continuum for adolescents in recovery. Our board chair, Billy Beers, spearheaded this effort forming the core team and engaging critical partnerships that launched this important initiative. Collectively, we took a deep dive into research and community-based assessments to support and inform the framework of the care we provide. We take a holistic, comprehensive, community-driven approach to program design that is equity-based, recovery oriented, culturally, and linguistically sensitive, rooted in evidence-based practices, adhere to a zero-barrier policy and follow a harm reduction model of intervention.
At Choices, we work within collaborative partnerships across multiple disciplines including health, education, juvenile justice, nonprofits, local businesses and state and local agencies. We are funded by the support and generosity of our neighbors who believe in investing in a second chance for youth affected by addiction, government agencies, corporate and private foundations.
Our programs are comprehensive in scale, integrate evidence-based practices, and are modeled after best practices to support long term recovery. We adhere to National Culturally and Linguistically Appropriate Services (CLAS) standards and support continuous quality improvement practices to strengthen overall impact.
Our full range of services take place at 108 Grove Street Suite 202 in Worcester, MA. All enrolled youth receive a free membership to the Greendale YMCA of Central Mass through a collaborative partnership.

“Our son’s recovery journey has not been a straight line and it’s not been easy for sure. There have been setbacks, disappointments, sleepless nights but as Choices staff states – “progress not perfection”. We now have a copilot helping us navigate the uncertain terrain of recovery, providing caring and unconditional support. Choices gets it and we are so glad we found them. – Craig H.”
